The "fine print:"

Gift certificates expire 6 months from date of purchase or date gift to be given (e.g.: 6 months from Christmas or a birthday). Dates for photoshoots are scheduled as "first come, first served" and are subject to availability, therefore,  no day of the week is guaranteed. 

A photoshoot date can be scheduled with the purchase of a gift certificate. If you know when your gift recipient will need a photoshoot, such as, a newborn session, this can be scheduled by the purchaser (you) at anytime. The gift certificate would expire 6 months from that day.
